i'm in my late 30s, and on the heavy side. i've a slipped disc in the lumbo-sacral area and have osteoarthritis on both knees. my skin (esp. on the face) isn't as soft and radiant as well... i've been taking fern-c vitamins daily and evening primrose caps as well. been drinking skimmed milk also for about a month now, hoping it could help make my bones stronger. are they all safe taken together? what other vitamins can i safely take with them?
What vitamins are best taken together?
A calcium/magnesium/zinc combo is great for joint support and for absorption of the calcium. A good baseline is a strong, stress-based multi which I think you've gone under control. On top of that, glucosamine/chondroitin/msm %26amp; devil's claw are a great combo for arthritis and joint support. A, D %26amp; E for skin (also use good, high quality lotions, oils or creams with plenty of vitamins in them) hair and for nails, gelatin (eat jello! its easiest and you can get sugar free if you're watching your weight or blood sugars). The evening primrose is GREAT stuff! Keep at that! But drinking milk isn't the only source of calcium. In fact, many people cant' digest the calcium in milk well, but do better with oyster shell calcium suppliments. The presence of the magnesium %26amp; zinc with it is still essential though as they potentiate each other and help the body absorb the calcium better. C, Echinecea and the zinc component are also great for immune system support--which is essential to overall good health and well-being. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Reply:If you eat wide variety of food, a young individual like you generally do not require supplements including vitamins. It is only wasting your money.
Osteo-arthiris at young age usually can be overcome by walking on soft surfaces such as on a grass field for 30 - 60 minutes every day. This exercise also helps make your bones stronger. Besides, it improves your blood circulation and makes you look younger.
