I am 39 weeks and 4 days.. I am 1 finger dialated and 2 cm long but very soft (what ever that means) but anyways I was told that Rasberry leaf tea helps induce labor.. Is there a specific way in drinking it like does it have to be cold or hot.. I live in germany and have been trying to find castor oil but no luck I guess military grocerys stores don't carry it.. If you tried to induce labor what did you do? cause I am really hoping to have this baby this weekend.. I've tried primrose oil but no luck. And i've had sex and it just makes me lose chunks of mucous (which is a good thing) but besides sex is there something else I can do to help move this process a couple days faster? Thanks in advance
Will Rasberry Leaf tea help induce labor?
I drank it for 2 weeks when I found out that I was 41/2 cm and 80% but it didnt help me. I ended up being 4 days over and had to get my membranes stripped this a more natural way to induce labor as opposed to having the petosin drip.
Walking may help too.
Reply:raspberry leaf helps tone the uterus to prepare for labor, and may contribute to a quicker and easier labor...but not sure if it will help that much this late in the game. i drank a pot of the tea (hot) the last few months of pregnancy every day. i would try to drink as much as possible. my labor was only 3 hours with no complications. was it the tea? i don't know. i also delivered on my due date. good luck!!! hope you can find some. i bet you can order on the internet too.
Reply:i drank that alot when i was pregnant i had it hot, it gets the cervix ready for labor, it can induce labor but it never for me, try a hot curry that worked for me i ate it at 18.00 and by 03.00 i was 4cm dilated. good luck x
p.s I'm in Germany to-Bielefeld,
DONT HAVE A HOT BATH- this will overheat your baby its dangerous
Reply:Hi!
I heard about that too, but actually raspberry leaf tea is not inducing labour but ripening your cervix, so it is "ready" for birth. I think 2-3 cups a day are okay.
I also live in Germany (husband is in the Army) and you're right, the grocery stores don't have that tea. I checked on this too since I am 36 weeks along tomorrow and wanted to try this out too. I checked online though, and you even can find it on Amazon.
Good luck with the birth of your child and congrats on the baby! Besides having sex, try walking, hot baths, and spicy food. (Didn't work for me though, my first kid got born one week over due)
Reply:Try it, who knows, but sounds like it's gonna happen soon any way so why push things?
Reply:That is a myth.
Sex though may help induce labor.
Reply:I've heard that castor oil does the trick. Actually haven't heard of Rasberry Leaf tea....
But your baby will be coming soon, relax, get some sleep....
Good luck.
