When is it safe to try self induction?

also, what is primrose oil?..

When is it safe to try self induction?
It's never safe to try to self induce unless your doctor or midwife gives you instructions. Otherwise it can be dangerous for you and your baby. Evening primrose is a plant native to North America, but it grows in Europe and parts of the Southern hemisphere as well. It has yellow flowers that bloom in the evening. Evening primrose oil contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid. Essential fatty acids are required by the body for growth and development, and must be obtained from the diet. It is sometimes used to induce labor but the effects to the unborn child is still unknown.
Reply:When is it safe? Only when the doctor/midwife tells you EXACTLY what and how much to take. As far as walking and things like that, feel free. If you are wanting to naturally induce your labor, you still need to discuss your options with your OB.
