Small amounts of sweet smelling watery discharge?

When I went to lay down awile ago I noticed it felt like I sorta pee'd a little and when I wiped it had a small amount of wetness with a bit of mucus. I read that it would smell sweet if it was amniotic fluid and it smelled sorta like sugar water. It was a sweet smell. Then it happened a few more times its small amounts so not enough to wet my undies or anything just sorta make em a little damp. But it doe have a sweet smell...should I worry or should I just leave it alone. I go to the dr on Tuesday I mean since its not alot and might not be aminotic fluid couldn't I just wait. I mean I drink aot of decaff tea with TONS of sugar. Could that be what I'm smelling in it? I have been taking EPO (evening primrose oil) for a few days now. Could that have anything to do with it?

No... it sounds like amniotic fluid to me. And you should call your doctor.

If your water breaks (even slightly--leaking) your doctor will worry about your baby getting an infection. If you are close to term, they will probably try to get you to have the baby within 24 hours.

Even if it was urine that smelled sweet, that can be a problem too. Every doctor's appointment, they probably check your urine. One thing they check for is sugar.
Reply:Why are you taking EPO? I have read that it is probably best avoided during pregnancy due to effects on hormones. You know... women have been having healthy babies for a very long time without using all these new things on the market.

You should call your doctor about the discharge.
Reply:I had the same thing when I was pregnant. I was told to do this:

Lay on your back and don't move at all for 10 minutes. Then stand up. If you feel trickling, it's prbably your water because when you lay down, the fluid keeps coming out but it collects behind the pubic bone, then when you stand up, it exits your body.

I was 39 weeks and was SURE my water was leaking because my panties were constantly wet. It was so disgusting. I went to the hospital and got the swab done to check for fluid and it turns out I was peeing a little bit and just had a lot of discharge. I delivered my son at 40 weeks to the day and I tell ya, when my water broke that time, it was like a river coming out!

But if your not sure, just go in. If your water is leaking, its a good thing to know! GOOD LUCK! :)
Reply:I think you should go to the doctor
Reply:I do not know your medical history but I am going to tell you my story regarding leaking of fluid. When I was 22 healthy, active and pregnant I sneezed one day and fluid came out. I thought I had pee'ed on myself. Then I'd get a little wetness on my panties and figured I should have it checked out. By the time I got to the OB floor and I was examined my daughters amino sac was coming through my cervix and it had a hole in it. They did what they could do to prevent me from having my daughter. Hours later I was giving birth to a 1 pound 7 ounce baby just shy of 24 weeks gestation. That was almost 14 yrs ago. I just had my second child he is just now 9 months and the only time I leaked with him was when I lost my mucos plug _2 weeks before he was born a month premature} but it was a different type of leak this one had "junk" in it. I'd advise you to get checked. Dont wait til tuesday by that time if it is your sac leaking infection could set in and you'd be forced to deliever your child early like I was.
Reply:Best to ring the birth suite of the hospital you are going to give birth at and let them know what is going on. they will tell you if they think you should come in or not. I did that when I was pregnant the day before I gave birth becuase I'd been having contractions for 3 days and had not slept. They checked everything was ok and reassured me I would be ok and gave me the option of staying at home or checking into the hospital. They are very helpful people as they deal with stuff like that all the time - even have a cry if you want, they don't seem to mind!
Reply:You should call your doctor. There is a simple strip of paper they use to check if it is amniotic fluid. Just to be safe you should call in. You don't want to take any chances.
Reply:Go to Labor and Delivery section of your hospital, let them know you are

leaking fluid and they'll check you right away....

If you think it could wait, then just watch for contractions........
