Halal to do this?

I take vitamins which have gelatin in them. I need to take them for hormonal reasons and cannot do without them. However, I want to find a halal/vegetarian option. I found that halal primrose oil vitamins can only be found on the internet and they are very expensive. So, I'm thinking..maybe I can take my haram gel caps..slice them..and simply swallow the oil itself and throw away the gelatin based cap? Would this be ok?

if its for medical reasons its ok. since you cannot afford the halal version then it would be ok to take the gelatin version.
