38+ wks pregnant with 6th baby, and not dilating??

I am 38+ weeks along with my 6th baby, and having off and on braxton hicks for weeks.... 2 weeks ago i went for a regular appt and was checked. I was lucky to be a fingertip dilated, which was surprising to me and my dr. for all the contrax i been having. Yesterday I went to have my membranes stripped, well, needless to say, the dr could barely reach my cervix and said I have made no progress in dilating over the past 2 weeks. He kinda found it amusing and shocking that I was not at least 3 to 4 cm dilated, considering this is my 6th baby, he thought I would of gone into labor by now. I am wondering if there is anything that will help to dilate my cervix? I have been doing the primrose, the walking, the sex and NOTHING!! I want as much help as possible due to the fact that my last 2 prenancies were induced and I dont really want that pain again... PLEASE HELP

Well if you have been doing the normal things that the doctor's suggest the only other thing I can add is excersize...



My doctor said have sex, walk and just keep the usual daily activities going that you normally do and then I started to exercise and I started to feel more contractions and even dialated...Every women is different and every birth is also...

Reply:I have 6 babies too %26amp; my doctor gave me every idea there was and tried natural ways for me to dialate %26amp; nothing....they had to induce but it went quickly once they did, I wish you all the best and God bless you %26amp; your family!

Reply:I had to be induced with my 5th child and I hadn't started to dilate either. Try borage oil, sometimes called starflower oil. My sister tried this and it ripened up her cervix in no time. She had a show after a couple of hours and gave birth to Gracie the next morning! You can get it from health food shops and she used an oral medicine syringe to squirt some near her cervix! Good luck, I'm sure it will happen very soon.
