Does anyone have some tips on getting through PMS monthly?

Due to meds I take I can't take evening primrose oil - the week before its due I go from calm to pissed off and want to slap someone in about 2 seconds. My man knows and just finds it funny to watch. Its horrible for me!

Are you able to take Vitamin B6.....this did help me when I was young. I had to take about 150 mgs per day. I was a guinea pig for Oil of Evening Primrose and it was quite good. Mine got so bad that I had a hysterectomy at 42 yrs of age. Try to have some quiet time during that horrible week when you feel bad. Good luck!
Reply:Just a thought to add on to my answer. I was also advised to have plenty of proteins during the PMS period. Good food and plenty of rest! Report It
Reply:antidepressants are great for the mood changes of pmdd. birth control pills are great for the physical symptoms.
Reply:You may have PMDD. Go to that website theres always that commercial about. Try midol.
Reply:Evening primrose does not help PMS per se anyway, though it can improve cyclic mastalgia. ( period breast pain).

Vitamin B6 in doses of 50 to 100mgs / day helps about 60% of women. This is 5 to 10 times the over the counter dose and thus needs prescibed.

Progesterones such as norithisterone again can help,as can the combines pill in some patients.

Its a bit old fashioned but I still occasionally try spironolactone, this is a diuretic, but its molecule is steroid like, and it is similar to some of the female sex hormones.
