Primrose oil pregnant?

i am 33 weeks, 2 days. I cant wait to have this baby, does anyone know about primrose oil to help labor? and when should i start taking it? I heard it can take a few weeks to work....

Primrose oil pregnant?
I understand how anxious you are about having the baby, but it is too early yet.... you need to wait at least 5 more weeks before you can even go into labor.

The only thing that I know to use primrose oil for is for the cervix and perenial massages.

My midwife had me insert 3 capsules of primrose oil into my vagina clear up by my cervix right before bed every night from 36 weeks on to delivery. It was to help soften it so that it could dialate and efface better. She said it is like putting chapstick on your lips to soften them so that they don't crack and bleed.
Reply:You're 33 weeks!!! Stop it! You've got a bunch of important developmental time to go...a few weeks wouldn't even put you at term yet. Honestly...
Reply:Let baby come naturally, when he/she is ready! I know you are anxious to meet baby, but trying to rush it could be harmful to your child.

Not all babies pop out on their 'due date' which is, keep in mind, just and ESTIMATE... Your pregnancy is functioning in accordance with it's own biological clock, and meddling with supplements and remedies, etc., in an attempt to hasten your labor is a terrible idea! Just be patient, you'll meet baby soon enough!
Reply:I know that right now you feel like you would like nothing more than to have your body to yourself, but you still have 7 weeks left! You need to try to be patient. And trust me, I know how hard that can be. The last weeks of pregnancy are vital for lung development, and trying to induce labor puts your baby at risk. You have made it this far, you can make it another seven weeks! Let nature take its course, and enjoy your last few weeks before you are pulling all nighters with the little ones. The best thing you can do right now is be patient.
Reply:Evening primrose oil will not put you into labor, and you should NOT be wanting to go into labor at 33 weeks anyway!! Do you realize how much risk your baby would be at?

Anyway, evening primrose oil contains prostoglandens (just like semen does) and it will soften your cervix. It will not cause contractions or anything like that. My midwife gives me the ok to take epo capsules orally after 34 weeks.
