What else can i try to help induce labour naturally?

im 40 wks +3days and i'm running out of ways to induce labour, everything i've tried hasn't worked. i've been taking RRL tablets since wk 31, evening primrose capsules since wk38. I've been very active throughout my pregnancy and have been doing plenty of walking about. i've tried eating curry's, nipple stimulation and have had sex that much my husband is worn out. NOTHING is working!!! i heard that castr oil is really bad to take as it can make your baby sick so if anyone knows of anything else that would work id love to hear from you, as im booked for a sweep on tuesday and have heard that they can hurt like hell!!!

What else can i try to help induce labour naturally?
Burn clary sage oil constantly, it smells odd but it might work. The nipple stimulation needs to be constant for at least 20 minutes (or more!). Try a yoga ball. A warm bath. A good laugh. A long bumpy ride...in a car...ha. And if it doesn't work, remember your babies lungs are maturing and might need a little more time and it is NORMAL to go into 42 weeks.....

Keep up the good work, but don't try castor oil....bad idea.

EDIT: I just remembered another way to get the oxytocin into your system to ripen the cervix, which is BETTER than the sex. Ingest it. (TMI maybe....) but it is true.
Reply:A safer than caster oil method that works in the same way... is an enema.

Never tried it myself, (only 34 weeks) but the effects don't go to your baby and your stomach won't get sick off of it.

Best of luck to you!
Reply:-Raspberry LEAF tea makes uterus contract

-SEX (prostaglandins in semen ripen cervix)

-Castor oil,to induce a BM (which can trigger contractions)-can also dehydrate you and give you the runs-I avoided that one

-Nipple stimulation

I have heard that there are pressure points on the legs to induce labor and alleviate pain relief go to maternityacupressure.com and look around

OR try everything at once!

your baby will come when he is supposed to,which is no fun to hear when you are this pregnant.

Good luck with your delivery and new baby!
Reply:Relax and enjoy the remaining time of your pregnancy. There is a reason the little one isn't out yet, maybe he's just not ready yet. Don't stress out over it. As for the sweep...its nothing compared to laboring and delivering. Castor oil can make you and the unborn sick. I creates liquid stools for the mother and can cause the fetus to become stressed. Let God work his magic. It will work out in the end...good luck
Reply:I've heard spicy foods can help. A friend of mine kept driving over the same patch of road where there's a little raised area, kinda like a small hill right in the middle of a flat stretch (hard to describe, but come and see me, I'll show you the road *kidding*).... she said that worked.
Reply:OK i took Castor oil to shift my baby that was late, and i was worried that it may have an effect on the baby, midwife assured me that all it does is make you poo and can make for a very speedy birth...if you are at full term for your baby a spoonful of Castor oil will work wonders but be prepared to sit on the loo for a long time....

good luck
