I am 37 weeks, and my pelvis is killing me! It has been like this for 2 months now, but it hurts to even walk.

My hips hurt so much. I got a heating pad and it has helped a little, but is there anything else I can do. Evening primrose oil seems to help my joints relax a little but nothing is comfortable...

It feels like the head is on that bone or like someone hit you huh?

My Doc told me that that bone is separating. Your body is making room for the baby... So its likely the baby is moving down
Reply:I was having these issues right around that time as well. If you are on the smaller side it seems like your body needs to "make room" for the baby so to speak. I also had sciatic nerve pains really bad going down my butt and leg. I think this is just your bodys way of preparing for birth. It is hard, but eventually it goes away. I dont really think it ever went away until I had the baby.
Reply:I had the same problem....so I talked to my doctor about it. At my gnyo office there is a physical therapist who treats pregnant women. She told me to lay next to the side of the bed (on your back of course :) and put your left leg flat against the side of the bed. What you do is push your left leg hard against the matress and push your right leg down. You hold that for 10 seconds and repeat it for 4 times. You can also do the other leg on the opposite side of the bed. What happens to some women while they are pregnant is that their hips get out of wack. This really helped me. Also I am not sure if you want to invest in one since you are really close to your due date, but the belly brace thing really helped me. It takes some of the weight off your lower back and hips. I hope you are feeling better. Good Luck!
Reply:get rid of the heating pad i was told they get to hot and could hurt the baby

try warm baths

you can take tylenol (acetaminophen) but that's it

talk to your doc about it maybe they can prescribe something or help labor come quicker
Reply:When I was pregnant I burned alot of inscense such as lavendar to help relax you. Heating pads help alot and ironically Swimming helps your lower back as well as pelvic area at least it did me. It takes alot of the pressure off. The weight too while you are in the water. I felt tons better. Hope it helps.
Reply:Im only 31 weeks and my side muscles ache so much and my hip bones hurt like a you know what.. i sleep on a bed of pillows.. it seems to help me get comfortable. Maybe you should try to make a little nest out of pillows it might help or take a tylenol to make ne swelling go down. Good luck :)
