Vitamins and Supplements?

What vitamins and supplements like eveing primrose or folic acid is good to take in order to conceive? Just to make the odds a bit better! And for a man? My husband had a reverse vasectomy so I want to give him some vitamins aswell to make them swim better! Any advice?

Vitamins and Supplements?
Messing with supplements is a dangerous thing, especially when trying to conceive. Folic Acid is a great supplement to take if you are thinking about getting pregnant, as it is necissary for the baby's growth, and if you are seriously considering being pregnant, you should already be on pre-natal vitamins....which has all the folate you need.

Secondly, your husband can take a mens multivitamin, but again, the best thing he can do is eat right, cut out all alcohol for the time being, same with caffeine and smoking.

For you, a prenatal vitamin is the best, but studies have shown taking a RECOMMENDED to LOWER dose of Iron could help your chances of conceiving, but it hasn't, to my knowledge, been supported by the FDA...that being said, a prenatal vitamin should have all the iron you need as well. Cutting out all caffeine for you is VERY important as well as no alcohol, smokes, etc.

I'm sorry hon, but there really isn't a magic pill to take to increase your chances of getting pregnant...millions of people would love that, but most stories you hear are old wives tales and many are dangerous to the baby if you were to conceive. The best thing you can do is research baby making positions (i'm not kidding either) on the web, and make sure you have a healthy diet, and know your cycle. Contact your Dr. and make sure you have a clean bill of health too. Let nature do the rest!

Good luck!
