I am 38 weeks pregnant and I want to have this baby!! Suggestions? No castor oil!?

I am saying no castor oil because I don't like the messiness of that. I have a 3 year old so I know the labor basics. Someone also gave me some evening primrose oil (I think that's what it's called) to help to soften. Is there anything else? I'm just uncomfortable at this point.

HAVE SEX, DRIVE UP A MOUNTAIN, PRAY THAT GOD WILL PUT YOU OUT OF YOUR MISERY!!
Reply:a uncomfortable as it may be....get walking...I just went to my first prenatal class and supposedly walking helps induce labour..also I hear that sex helps too...
Reply:Godd things come to those who wait! But if you must hurry things try walking and standing alot. I hear it aids with bringing babies sooner.
Reply:S E X
Reply:the only one i have heard of that seems to work is a hot curry,,,,,
Reply:You know what, ask your baby, because they are the only ones that knows when their own birthdays are going to be. Some people have sex, some drink castor oil, but sometimes that doesn't work. I mean c'mon you're almost there, so you can have that baby any day, so you're in the very last stretch. And I know how you feel because I was too ready, but girl, when that baby comes and the baby comes home for the first night, you gonna be wishin you had more time. And as far as sleep is concerned... ha ha! Your good sleeping days are for now because girl, when that baby comes, and is crying for a bottle in 3 in the morning and you have luggage under your eyes and feeling like a zombie from the last 4 times you've gotten up in the middle of the night, you will be thinking, damn.... Just relax during this time of anxiety and waiting game because you're almost there. So just take a walk and be around some friends while you can for now... And I feel your pain cuz I been there and done that. Good luck and congradulations.
Reply:This is going to sound funny, but have sex!! The uterine contractions can start labor. Also, do lots of walking. What worked for me was housework! I was due to be induced with my first child, and I wanted to go into labor naturally, so the day or so before I was scheduled for induction I did laundry, walked up and down the stairs, cleaned and organized the baby's room, vacuumed, walked around a lot, etc. And it worked! Not only did I go into labor naturally, in the middle of the night, I was so tired I slept through most of it!!!! I woke up when my contractions were 3 minutes apart, with minimal pain, and got to the hospital with plenty of time for an epidural! Here's hoping you have as easy a labor as mine... :)
Reply:I know it isn't the desired answer, but patience. I went through two pregnancies and on the second one I felt just like you. I told the midwife I should carry my son up the three flights of stairs to our apartment more, not less. His weight on my stomach would push the baby out. The midwife didn't like that. No sense of humor. :-) It is harder when you have to run after a young child, but my daughter was right on time and that irritation and annoyance is long forgotten. Really, you shouldn't try to push the labor, you could cause complications; it's too risky to mess with. Just be, yes that wretched word again, patient. After all, you only have two more weeks and have finished 38. You're almost done.
Reply:I'm 39 wks. and my mom told me to drink Red Raspberry Leaf tea...I have been guzzling it down for the past 2 days. Her friend swears by it. Other than that, walk and sex...
Reply:cranberry juice!
Reply:Well... I know how you feel! I still say let the baby come on its own though. Sometimes they need that extra 2 weeks. If you insist though, I don't know many herbal things besides what you mentioned. I don't think that they work really well anyways. Walking is good. I took a 2 mile walk the day before I had my son. Be careful though. I think it may have been dehydration that sent me into labor. I wouldn't use sex at this point because it can really hurt. I do know that the hormones in semen can induce. Also bumpy car rides trigger harsh contractions and if you are really ready, it will send you into labor. But again, it's only due to extreme stress on your body Everything is so dangerous when it comes to inducing labor. Even the medical practices are a little risky. I think you should wait until your baby is ready. Think of what is best for him or her. That two weeks will seem like nothing after the baby is born.
Reply:try raspberry leaf tea, walk a lot and have sex if you feel comfortable with it at this point. you can get the tea at a whole food market or wild oats. it's supposed to soften the womb and is actually on the not to drink list before 38 weeks. good luck.
Reply:Other than letting nature takes it's course. Walk more take a ride down a bumpy road. By taking all the Castor oil or primrose could cause more trouble than you bargain for make sure you check with your doctor before do any ol'wives tales. You could also ask your doctor to go ahead and induce labor, some are willing to do this and some are not.

I understand that your uncomfortable, but the baby just isn't ready to make his/her entry. Good luck!
Reply:WALK WALK WALK....sex, nipple stimulation. The evening primrose won't send you into labor but it will make labor easier because you'll be softer to start.
