I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and i can tell you that is very good for PMT and the menopause and depression, if you have an hormone imbalance, if you do then you can also take Dong Quai or Black Cohosh.. Some people suffer from headaches as a side effect of taking evening primrose. These medicines are not over night cures, they take a while to get into the system. Anything from 1 week to 3 months. Star flower oil is much better than evening primrose but is expensive.

How long before evening primrose works?
What are you taking it for?that is also important to know, evening primerose oil supplies essential fatty acids. It is not a wonder energy pill, you may just notice subtle changes like glowing skin better mood etc,or you may notice none at all.that is a highly individual thing, some people may feel better within a few days, and others in a few months.
Reply:Depends. Usually 2 weeks, but I take it %26amp; notice a difference within several hours. I'm not overweight.
Reply:My daughter has been taking it for about 6 weeks at least. If you are taking it for mood/PMS, then I'd give it at least that long. I have seen a noticeable difference with her lately, but we have also tried other things that are helping also. She takes 2 (1000mg) capsules daily and she takes them consistently. So always remember to take them everyday.
