Is it safe to leave a diaphram with evening primrose oil in me overnight???

the doctor will strip my membrane tomorrow. but I heard she can not do that until my cervix is softened. last time,( a week ago) my servix was not softened. I want to do this membrane stripping as a less intrusive thing before real induction. so I need my cervix to soften. so here is the question again:

Is it okay to leave the diaphram full of EPO in on my cervix overnight? is it safe to do so. not in the mood for sex. and it is hard to put evening primrose oil way up there. so ... any suggestions. ?? thanks in advance

i don't understand why it's hard to put it "way up there." when i used EPO i used the soft capsules, and just put them in. they dissolve by themselves and the oil doesn't leak or anything. i would say it's safe, though it may be uncomfortable to have the diaphragm in all night.
Reply:gosh ive never heard of that before, i am not sure though. you could be dialated and not even know it, and if you are dialated then something could reach the baby. i wouldnt suggest it. worst case scenario youll be induced in a couple of days and they will give you meds to soften your cervix
Reply:I truly wouldent recommend it. You could inadvertently introduce pathogens into an area where they are not welcome.

Why not wait until your body is read and your baby is ready to come naturally?whats the hurry?

btw stripping membranes hurts!

hayes
