i am 44 and have shocking pimples on face, neck, chest and upper back. they are sometimes quite big and even starting out as a sore spot, then getting bigger and bigger being very sore before eventually coming out. i was told i had overactive male hormones which was sending signals to my brain to stop producing oil and start producing wax and was put on Diane35 birth control pills. it worked wonders, but, it eventually gave me a pulmonary embolism due to having a protein c deficiency and had to stop taking it.
Since stopping the pill, my skin has gone back to being just as bad if not worse than it was before. the pimples are also very itchy especially on my back drinving me absolutely crazy.
I live on the gold coast, semi tropical and humid, lots of perspiring. i have been taking evening primrose oil capsules but they don't appear to have made a difference.
help.....i am going insane.
I can't take pill due to blood clots in lungs. what else can i take to control pimples on face/chest/back?
I used to have a broblem with acne. I were on all the pills and gels you can possible think of. My dermatoligist sugested that i use Roacutane. I was very sceptical. I mean, what will Roacutane do that these other products don't do. Roacutane is also very expensive compared to other products.
So, I finally gave in and after thorough research I decided to try it out. I was amashed at what Roacutane did for me. It not only cleared my acne, but also took away the scars that was caused by acne through the years. It also took away the oiliness of my scin.
Roacutane is the leading product in acne treatments today. Although tis product is backed by a 10 years positive lab test, there were a lot of negative side affects found. The most common is: dry scin that can cause your eyes to itch, nose to bleed, cracked lips and redness to the scin. It causes also 10% hair loss. It can also cause depression in some cases.
The treatment lasts only for four months. In some cases the treatment can be up to 8 months. It is proven that Roacutane heals, clears and prevent 85% and more of all acne. After the 4 - 8 month course it will never be necessary to use any other acne control products again.
I can trully tell from my experience that Roacutane is the only working product on the market. The side affects like hair loss, dry skin and redness to the skin clears up in 2 weeks and hair grows back in 1 year.
Go and see a dermatoligist so that he/she can prescibe a course of Roacutane to you according to your weight and specific needs.
Reply:You can try Pro-Active treatment. You can look it up on the internet. My suggestion is to see your family doc. who might refer you to a dermatologist. Good luck!
Reply:Try ProActive, Friend of mine used it, worked very very well :)
Reply:talk to your doctor about taking benzaclin (clindamycin-benzoyl peroxide gel). It wont help with your hormone problems but it is an excelent topical cream.
Reply:Excess androgens are commonly caused by too much sugar and simple carbohydrates in your diet.
You could also try natural progesterone. It is the "mother" of all hormones, and will help to bring all your hormones back into balance.
