Has any one used evening primrose oil??

my midwive told me to use it but does this work to speed up or not??

Has any one used evening primrose oil??
It doesn't start contractions all it does is helo soften the cervix. You can either take then orally at 34 weeks everyday or onnce you reach 38 week insert them vaginally at night and by the time you wake up the first time to pee they should have dissolved already. It ripens the cervix to prepare it for delivery but it doesn't start contractions.
Reply:If used properly to "massage" the perinneal area, it can work, yes. I had my husband try it once and it was uncomfortable, so I had him stop. I had the baby a month early and now I regret asking him to do it... even though there are several other factors involved to get things "going"...
