Desperate for a way to induce my labor at home!?

I have tried everything that I can find on the internet from:

Castor oil

pineapple

black cohosh tea

goldenseal tea

red raspberry tea

evening primrose oil

walking

sex

nipple stimulation

glass of red wine with relaxation

and none of them seem to work! I keep getting regular contractions, but after about 2 hours, they stop and do not come back till that evening or the next day. I am dialated and effaced (1 and 35%) so I'm on my way. I need ideas because my husband is deploying the end of the month and I want him to spend a little time with our new one before he leaves. Any help would be great. Thanks guys!

have you tried borage seed oil? it is like evening primrose but even stronger. it is contraindicated in pregnancy because it brings on contractions. black cohosh worked for me too. just keep walking!!!
Reply:Why not talk to your dr about inducing you???

Surely they would understand the reason why you want to be induced. It doesn't hurt to ask.
Reply:Hun, if after all of that you're only 1 cm and 35% effaced, its just not time. Perhaps you can speak to your doctor about a membrane sweep or some other means. I wish you the best.
Reply:Your body just isn't ready yet. If it were, some of these things would get things going. I know you're stressed about the deployment but your body doesn't always want to cooperate!

You are on the right track for the list of things to try: now settle in and relax for a couple of weeks! How many weeks are you? You are making some progress already but it's not real significant yet... try to be patient if you can! Pushing your body before it's ready will just lead to you being uncomfortable.

What does your doctor say about an induction at this point?
Reply:How far along are you? You have tried everything I have ever heard of too. You might talk to your doctor if you are far enough along %26amp; it would not harm the you or baby maybe your doctor would consider inducing.
Reply:Stairs are good for you because gravity really does help.

And sex doesnt work unless you orgasim.
Reply:The only other thing I could think of is something really spicy. Eat spicy foods!
Reply:I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, by forcing out this baby before s/he is ready could put his/her life in danger...Just because you have passed 38 weeks doesn't mean s/he is ready.

I feel for you I truly do... But you need to be thinking about the baby and your husband should be too.

You have already listed all the things I could think of...BTW Castor Oil is a laxative in case you didn't figure that out! It also crosses the placenta and can cause the baby to pass meconium (poop) while still inside, upon birth if any of the meconium is breathed in it can cause a serious infection and even pneumonia!!!!

I would really wait!!! For your childs sake.

Avoid medical induction...if you are not ready a failed induction WILL lead to a CESAREAN SECTION!!!
Reply:the baby is just not ready yet!!!! geeze!!!
Reply:I dont mean to burst your bubble, but if you've tried all that, and nothing is still happening, does that not tell you that your baby isn't ready to be born?

I understand why you want your baby to be born so desperately though. Maybe you could try having a word with your doctor and explaining the situation. Maybe he could do a membrane sweep, or maybe even induce labour for you. I hope your husband gets to meet your baby before he has to leave. All the best.
Reply:sweetie, I know its miserable but the baby will come when its ready. In the meantime, get some sleep, you will need it when the baby comes!

=)
Reply:A vibrator.

A bullet perhaps that you can just keep inside you. Your muscles will contract to try and push it out. It does that regardless of pregnancy, i imagine this would help. And an orgasm is never a bad thing.
Reply:i'm wondering the same thing and people just keep telling me to wait, it makes me sooooo mad!!! if you find a way then let me know!!! since your husband is deploying the doc may induce a week or so early, it's worth asking. good luck!!!
