What is the best way to use Evening Primrose Oil?

I AM 38 WEEKS ALONG AND ALREADY STARTED DILATING AND AM ABOUT 75% OR MORE EFFACED. I AM SO UNCOMFORTABLE. CONTRACTIONS COME AND GO BUT ARE NOT CONSISTENT ENOUGH FOR ME TO CHECK IN AT THE HOSPITAL. EVENING PRIMROSE OIL CAN HELP. I BOUGHT IT IN THE SOFT GEL FORM BUT HAVE RECEIVED MIXED IDEAS ON THE BEST WAY TO USE IT... INSERT VAGINALLY OR SWALLOW ORALLY AND WHY?

What is the best way to use Evening Primrose Oil?
Vaginally IMO is best...poke a hole in the capsule and insert, be sure to wear a pad as it can get a little messy if you dont!

ETA ~ I say vaginally as direct contact works best vs orally, but you can do both!
Reply:Under the supervision of your dr. Look up evening primrose oil, it will tell you it can cause hemorrhaging after birth...bad move....wait it out like the rest of us. The baby will come when he/shes ready. Try walking or sex, NATURAL methods.
Reply:Evening Primrose Oil *IS* a natural method of induction.

Vaginally is great as it ripens the cervix.

All my best!
Reply:Evening Primrose Oil can be used either way: Orally or vaginally. I'm not sure which way is more effective, but I do know its something midwives have used to bring labor on for centuries.

I think if I were to use it, I'd do it vaginally as well, because its right there, and to me, closer contact would be better.
Reply:Evening Primrose? What you need is castor oil, and it's internal. Drink half a bottle of mineral oil and four tablespoons of castor oil, and you'll be in labor for sure. I know that sounds like alot, but it works, and I have 3 healthy kids.
