I'm looking for things that others have found from their own personal experience - not recommendations that haven't been tried. I suffered from chronic fatigue for almost 20 years. I don't think it was CFS. I've found some solutions which have helped like eating at set times, getting enough protein, getting off of sugar and white flour products, eating more natural foods, eating more greens, taking Flax Oil and Evening Primrose Oil. Thanks.
What solutions have you found to alleviate fatigue? I'm looking for answers from personal experience only.
I saw a Doctor who specializes in Nutritional and alternative medicine. He conducted some tests--one in particular that gathered saliva samples 4times a day for 5 days. He diagnosed my CF's cause as low adrenal gland function. Blood tests conducted by my regular Dr. tested low, but "normal."
I followed his recommendations and still do. It includes many of the suggestions in your other answers.
There are many things you can do; the changes you have already made are excellent. I would have to write you a book to tell you all that he taught me! It cost me some money, but it was worth it. It's important to try to identify the cause of the problem, and tailor your your choices to that particular problem.
There is an excellent book: Prescription Guide to Nutritional Healing by Drs. James and Phyllis Bach. I've seen it in Walgreen's, bookstores, vitamin stores, organic food stores, etc.
Good luck to you!
Reply:Drink lots of water
Reply:Go through a system detox. Then start to exercise daily and each day do better than the last day. That way you will train your body to have more energy.
Reply:Try incorporating an iron supplement into your diet. If you have an iron deficiency then in about 2 or 3 days of taking an iron supplement you will notice a difference. I've been taking an iron pill for the last 10 years and if I forget to take it for a couple of weeks or months I notice a difference.
Reply:I suffer from disabling fatigue and I started taking Provigil and it has helped a lot. You may want to do some research on it. It was originally used to treat narcolepsy, and people that work swing shifts and can't stay awake at work. Airline pilots also use it on long flights.
Good Luck!
