ok well i know there are alot of questions already about this.
im 18 and have always suffered period pains, i have tried everything, hot baths heat pads hot water bottles, ibuprofen, feminax, all those triple action pills. and evening primrose which helpesd for a couple of months out of the 2 years i have been taking them.
i do alot of exercise and find this does not help.
i always end up missing college or work for a couple of days cause the pain is so bad i cannot move. i have even passed out a couple of times.
if i go to the drs and ask for the pill will this help?
is there anyother home remedies i could try?
Period pain so bad i passed out?
The pill could certainly help in this situation as well as the doctor being able to give you a "just in case" check up to make sure that everything is in order. You could have endometriosis, in which uterine tissue grows on other organs and can casue extreme pain during your period. But hopefully this is not the case :)
Reply:It seems you have tried everything. Have you tried anything with hyocine in it? Feminax used to have this but it was taken out. You can get it in tablets for Irritable bowel syndrome, and is very good for cramping. You could try asking your doctor for this. Being put on the pill is probably going to be your best bet though, so go ahead and speak to your doctor. x
Reply:If you are passing out because the pain is that bad then I'd stop trying to find a solution and go to your doctor. There could be many reasons why the pain is so bad that it causes you to pass out, one reason could be endometriosis, which I have just been treated for. Or as everyone else suggests, the pill can also be a great help, a friend of mine suffered with the pain (not enough to pass out though), she was put on the pill and the pains stopped.
Only your doctor can tell you exactly what is going on though, make an appointment and let them decide
Reply:I would suggest the pill - it is the only time in my life I have ever been without period pain! Go and talk to your GP about it. Good luck!
Reply:My seventeen year old daughter has the same problem and the doctor told us the pill would help. I guess we will never know because she refuses to get on it. Don't ask. She has her silly reason. The only home remedies I know are plenty of rest and keep yourself warm. Sorry.
Reply:One thing is diet. Take light food those days. Avoid constipation. All other steps you are already taking, get yrself checked up and start pills, good luck!
Reply:The pill will help, yes. But I would go to the doctor and ask them to make sure there's nothing else wrong - I'm not trying to scare you, but you're having these symptoms for a reason, and if you go on the pill then it'll only cover them up. I have very bad periods also, but I refused to go on the pill. I've had an examination which discovered an irregularity which could be causing the problem. I'd suggest you ask for the same. If it all comes back OK then yeah, go on the pill. I just think that some doctors use the pill as a cop-out when women come to them with problem periods.
Reply:I had also such problems.
I could make the period be shorter and so the pain by let my husband do massage on my lower back just over the butt.
It's were they do the massage when get birth also do bring the baby out and it does help for bleeding too.
Then should you take aspirin that also make the bleeding go out faster.
Why you have such pain can cause of big blood clots that have had to make their way out so one time did my Doctor cleaned up me from big blood clots that stopped the way out for the blood and made me have such pain.
Reply:passing out is not a home remedy thing-it is a heavenly help needed thing.
Yet the pill will help talk to your doctor anyways-and cranberry anything will help the cleansing system
I suggest help from above and true love too=Live with self esteem even when you are engaged to be married in true love for life, and be the type that is about a diamond ring.
we reap what we sow. its good in the blessed light.
in amazing grace that saved me=John 3 repented of my sins, and let Jesus in my heart to be my savior and best friend. He promised "I love you and knock on your heart door to come in when you repent (even of one lie) do it quickly, Behold I stand at your heart door and knock, if you let me in I will be your friend." Revelation 3:19%26amp;20
so I prayed to be helped too = "Jesus thanks that you love me, I am sorry for my sins so help me do better, come into my heart and be my friend, amen."
this changed my life wonderfully and gave me inner peace in the midst of storms and now I have Jesus the good shepherd to guide my life happily each day Psalm 23 %26amp; John 10 in the more abundant life!
prayin for you too the best, David
Reply:If you're passing out because the pain is so bad then you really should go for a thorough check-up...it does sound as if you might have Endermetriosis, there is a home remedy for it,it doesn't cure it but if you persevere over a few months you'll notice the difference...but go to the Doctor as well and get yourself checked out.The home remedy is Red Skinned Peanuts...if you eat a handful of these every day it can help lesson the symptoms,,,any ladies out there suffering from heavy periods will also benefit from eating Red Skinned Peanuts...you can get them at any Supermarket.
Reply:I think its best if you go to the Docs explain just how bad they are and tell him that you want to be referred to a gynaecologist. They will be able to haev a proper look insde and see if the pain is being caused by something in particluar. after years of suffering and liek you no drugs/water bottle anything helped this is what i did. The gynie found endomitriosis and lasered it away, so now i should get less pain (it was only a few weeks ago). Really if is worth it to see if they can do anything about it, masking the probelm with the pill or any other drug is not help in the long term is it? Good Luck!
Reply:yeah the pill helps a bit! it makes the period lighter and easier, but i dont know about pain! your doctor will help!
Reply:One girl i dated had this same problem...she passed out several times....then started birth control and it helped her a considerable amount. I imagine it would effect (or affect to early) different women different ways. Hope this helps.
Reply:I think it's normal to have a pain during your period but I think you should go see the doctor .
Good luck!
Reply:Get on the pill! That way, you don't have real periods, they're just monthly 'bleeds' and you can even choose to skip out the bleed week and run your packs together so you don't get a period. I suggest you talk to your doctor about it, it'll save you alot of future pain and hassle
Reply:The PILL IS the answer! I had your exact problem.....it was bad so I got on them and it was so much better...I am recently off pill and now experiencing the pain all over again, i forgot how bad it was!
Reply:go see your doc again and ask if you could be suffering from endermetriosis my sister suffered for years before they thought to test her.
